Osano for Slack: What Triggers a Notification

Updated 20 days ago

How notifications work

Osano sends two kinds of Slack messages, and they run alongside each other.

The daily digest arrives once a day and summarizes everything currently on your plate, grouped by module. If you have nothing open, no digest is sent.

Real-time notifications fire the moment something changes that involves you.

Both are governed by the notification settings already in your Osano account under Account → Notifications. There is no separate Slack preference model. If you have turned a notification type off in Osano, it will not reach you in Slack either.

What every message contains

Each notification tells you what changed, what it involves, how urgent it is, and gives you a link straight to the exact view in Osano. Overdue items are flagged red, items due soon amber, and informational items neutral.

Messages carry counts, labels, urgency state, and links only. They never include requester names or email addresses, assessment response content, or vendor-sensitive detail.

Common questions

Can I get notifications in a channel instead of a DM?

No Daily Digests and Real-time notifications are direct messages only.

Can I turn off just one type of notification?

Yes. Use your existing settings under Account → Notifications in Osano. Whatever you change there applies to both email and Slack.

Can I take action from Slack?

Not yet. Slack is an awareness surface today; the platform remains where work gets done.
