Osano Compliance Check helps you continuously validate that your site’s privacy compliance is working as intended — automatically scanning your website to catch issues like missing banners, dark patterns, or broken consent mechanisms before they become regulatory risks.
Click the ‘+ New Site’ button to add a new Site to scan.
Depending on which Osano plan you choose, scan options will range from Daily to Monthly. You may also temporarily pause your scan frequency by electing the option of ‘none’. You will still be able to trigger a manual scan while set to none, up to your monthly plan limits.
Compliance Check provides continuous verification across your domains based on your scan frequency. Automated scans monitor for the following requirements and provides a pass/fail status:
Cookie banners not displaying properly
Dark patterns that could introduce regulatory exposure
Privacy Policy visibility and date
DSAR submission methods
Affects of user GPC settings on website display and consent mechanisms
Each check provides you with pass/fail details on the results found, and if relevant, a screenshot of the website findings. An AI summary is provided to help explain the findings and why the results was a pass or fail.
You may also view historical scan records by selecting a scan date from the Scan dropdown. The Export button will allow you to download a PDF version of your results that can be shared.
To edit an existing site, you can click the more options menu item to the right of the Scan button. From this modal, you can update the frequency of your site scans or update the privacy policy link.
When you first log into Osano, you’ll have a single view of the sites setup within Compliance Check, and you can see the outcome of the last six site scans. The site dropdown allows you to quickly switch between your sites and see each site’s results individually.
