Consent banner regions

Banners by Region

Osano utilizes the end user's I.P. address to pinpoint their location and displays a consent banner that is most consistent with privacy laws in their region. Below is a list of regions and banner templates that are associated with each region. Refer to the "Key" for further explanation of consent banners. All banners may be previewed in the "Customization" section of your consent manager configuration.

** NOTE: You cannot change which consent banner the end-user sees as Osano automatically displays the correct banner to each end-user based on their geo-targeted location (I.P. Addresses). The banner shown will be that which is most compliant in the user's geographical location. **

Changes to Regulations

The Osano team manages and maintains these banner templates. Our team of privacy experts and attorneys strive to keep abreast of changes and modifications of global privacy laws as they arise. We then interpret these changes or recommendations and update or adjust our consent banner templates on a location-by-location basis where required to keep you compliant. Any changes made to banner templates in particular regions will be released into the Consent Manager product and communicated via in-app alerts.

Consent Banner Key:

  • Opt-Out vs. Opt-In
    • Is the end-user required to Opt-In to non-essential categories by default, or are they required to Opt-Out non-essential categories?
    • Note: "On Timer" denotes that the banner disappears on its own after x seconds pass. "X" is configurable within the Osano application or this timer can be disabled completely. Consent banner template #1 is currently the only banner that utilizes this timer functionality.
  • Analytics On vs. Analytics Off:
    • Is the "Analytics" category of scripts/cookies turned on by default or turned off by default?
  • Show Categories vs. No Categories:
    • Does the end-user see each script/cookie category in the initial consent banner by default or not?

** NOTE: This list is likely to change as new compliance and privacy laws are introduced. Osano will make the necessary updates to the mapping if/when changes are made.**
