Create a Unified Consent configuration

  • Updated

Configurations are the starting point to setting up a Unified Consent & Preference Hub. Within a configuration an administrator is able to configure and tailor styling & content customizations. This is also where an administrator will also associate privacy protocol(s) with the configuration for those privacy choices to appear on the Preference Hub/Privacy Center.

Add a new configuration

Adding a new configuration is simple and can be done in a few steps.

  1. Navigate to Configurations in the lefthand navigation menu.

  2. Click the Create icon in the bottom right corner of the page.
  3. Provide a name for your configuration.

  4. Enter all valid domains that the Preference Center may be displayed or served from.
    • This field should include any subdomains where you may host the portal, if applicable.
  5. Enter the organization’s Privacy Policy link and add the date it was valid from.
  6. (Optional) Enter a help page or FAQs link
  7. Set the Processing time it will take for the opt-out privacy choices to be processed
  8. Select method(s) of jurisdiction collection. This is how an end-user's location/jurisdiction would be gathered and served their consents or preferences.

Enable a Privacy Protocol

This is the area where the Privacy Protocols will be selected from the library to display on the Preference Hub.

  1. From the submenu, navigate to Privacy Protocols
  2. Click the plus icon on the right side of the page. This will open a pop-up window to select Privacy Protocols from the library. It contains all pre-canned Osano managed protocols and custom ones created.
  3. Select one or multiple privacy protocols from the list or by searching them by name in the search barThen click the checkbox beside them and click the ‘Add Protocols’ button. This will add the protocols to the configuration.
  4. Once the Privacy Protocols have been added, there is the ability to disable them from the configuration without deleting them completely, using the toggle beside the protocol. Disabling will hide the protocol from the Preference Hub/Privacy Center. Use the trash can icon to delete a protocol from a configuration. Note. There is filtering on this page to help sort protocols.
  5. Click the Save Changes button.
  6. Click the ‘Preview’ button in the top right corner of the page to view a draft version of your configured Preference Hub.

Configure Styling

The Styles section contains all the settings to customize the Unified Consent & Preference Hub to match your organization’s brand and style guidelines.

From here, you may update the following settings:

  • Upload Logo – Upload your organization’s logo that will appear on the Preference Hub/Privacy Center. Clicking on the logo will lead your end-user to the homepage of your organization’s site if the homepage URL is added.
  • Set Fonts Styles – Select custom font families for all headings & texts from the dropdown menu
  • Set Color Styles - Select custom colors for text, buttons, and background pages from the color picker

Publish your configuration

Once finished with all configurations and settings, you will now be ready to Publish your configuration.
