Classification of Content within the Osano Cookie Consent Manager

Introduction to Content Identification

  • Osano JavaScript installed on the website.
  • Osano identifies content by scanning the site for script cookie iframe content.
  • Content appears in the scripts, cookies, and iframes section within 15 minutes to a few hours.

Classification Process

  • Discovered Section: Initial location for all identified content.
    • Review and classify content to ensure user agreement to tracking categories.
    • Categories: Essential, Analytics, Marketing, Personalization.
  • Managed Section: Classified content.
    • Save classified content to the managed section.
    • Managed section contains hard and fast rules for user interaction.
    • Unmanaged content is null and void, not utilized or managed by the user.

Rules and Classification

  • Rules: Means of classifying script content.

    • Exact Match: Direct one-to-one classification.

    • Path Match: Classification based on URL path.

    • Regular Expressions (Regex): Using special characters for wildcard classification.

Managing Rules

  • Search and filter options available in both managed and discovered sections.

  • Bulk actions: Delete or save multiple classified content at once.

  • Bulk saving requires all content to be classified.

Ignored Section

  • Extension of the discovered section for content not currently classified.
  • Use for content to address later or content not to be shown in the discovered section.
  • Ignored content can be reinstated if needed in the future.
