Creating and Updating Consent Prompts
A Consent Prompt in Osano is a collection point to gather consent and preference choices made by the end-users. Consent Prompts are available in a banner or modal format to insert on any website workflow, event, or trigger.
Osano Curated Privacy Protocols
Osano offers standard Privacy Protocols that adhere to common consent and preference requirements. Below are examples of pre-configured protocols that are managed by Osano and cannot be modified. View more Privacy Protocols.
- CIPA: Allows users from California to opt-in or out of non-essential tracking and sharing of data.
- VPPA: Enables users to opt-in or out of sharing video tracking data.
- Do Not Sell/Share: Compliant with U.S. regulations such as CCPA/CPRA, this protocol allows users to opt out of the sale (or share) of personal data.
- Use of Sensitive Data: Lets users opt out of the processing of sensitive data in specific U.S. states.
Creating Consent Prompts
Creating a Consent Prompt is simple and can be set up in a matter of minutes. Follow the steps below to create one from scratch:
- Navigate to Configurations from the left-hand navigation panel.
- Click on the Create icon in the bottom right and select Consent Prompt.
- Name the Configuration and add domain(s).
- Navigate to Privacy Protocols from the navigation panel
- Click the Add Privacy Protocol button on the bottom right of the page and select one or more protocols. Then click Add Protocols.
- Note: More than one protocol may be added to a consent prompt, if necessary.
- Navigate to Styles from the navigation panel and configure the styling choices, optionality, and content for the prompt. This is where you can choose the look and feel of the prompt such as position, text, colors, etc. Make sure to add a URL link that will display at the bottom of the prompt.
- Click Create on the top right corner of the page. Now you have successfully created a consent prompt!
Updating Consent Prompts
To update an existing Consent Prompt:
- Navigate to the Consent Prompt you want to update.
- Modify the necessary fields.
- Click Save Changes.
