Setting Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Osano requires Multi-Factor Authentication for login to the Osano application. With MFA, we are offering stronger means of authentication for security and adding an additional layer of protection to your user account.

Multi-Factor Authentication or MFA

In order to login to your Osano Administration Portal (my.osano.com), you will need:

  • Your Username and Password
  • Your Cellphone

When logging into your Osano account, after entering your username and password, you will be prompted to choose your MFA method.

Osano offers 2 methods of MFA:

  • Via text message (SMS)
  • Via an authenticator app (TOTP - Authy, Google Authenticator, etc.)

Note: An authenticator application is the more secure means of authentication and is recommended where possible.

Setting Up MFA: SMS

When prompted to "Configure Multi-Factor Authentication", select SMS. Note that standard messaging rates apply.

Enter the Phone Number you want to be associated with this account (be sure to include the country code).

This phone number will receive a text message with a one-time code.

Confirm your login by entering the 6-digit verification code.

Click "Continue to Sign In" to sign in to the product.

Congratulations! You have set up SMS Multi-Factor Authentication!

Setting Up MFA: Authenticator (TOTP)

When prompted to "Configure Multi-Factor Authentication", select Authenticator App.

Go to your Apple or Android app store and download an authenticator application (ex. Google Authenticator or Authy) if you do not already have one.

Once downloaded, use your authenticator app to scan the QR code OR enter the secret key manually into your authenticator.

Once added successfully, a randomized, one-time verification code will appear in your authenticator app.

Confirm your login by entering the 6-digit verification code into the Osano authentication screen.

Click "Verify code" to sign in to the product.

🎉Congratulations! You have set up TOTP Multi-Factor Authentication! 🎉
